GOP Builds $677 Million War Chest as Democrats Trail in Key Committees

WASHINGTON — Republicans are entering the final stretch of the 2026 midterm campaign with a major financial advantage, fueled by President Donald Trump’s political operation and strong fundraising by the GOP’s national committees.

Federal Election Commission filings through June 30 show Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. with more than $400 million in cash. The Republican National Committee reported $128.5 million, while the National Republican Senatorial Committee held $55.9 million and the National Republican Congressional Committee had $92.7 million. Together, the four groups held approximately $677 million. 

The Democratic National Committee reported $16.3 million in cash and $18.5 million in debt. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee held $41 million, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had $79 million—approximately $136 million combined. 

The widely circulated five-to-one comparison is not a complete accounting of political money because it includes MAGA Inc. but excludes Democratic-aligned outside groups. Still, the official party committees also show Republicans holding clear cash advantages at the national, House and Senate levels.

With control of Congress at stake in November, Republicans will have substantial resources available for advertising, voter turnout and competitive battleground races.
